What is the history of Cardullo’s Gourmet Shoppe?

The store was first opened by Frank N. Cardullo in 1950 to sell specialty foods and hard-to-find products to the residents of Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts and beyond. Since then, the store has been passed down through the generations, to Frank’s oldest child, Frank Cardullo, and is now owned and operated by three of the Cardullo siblings, Donez, Francesca and Francis. We continue to be one of the oldest stores in the Square and one of the last few family-owned and operated shops in the area.

Cardullo’s Gourmet Shoppe is in the heart of Harvard Square, across from the Harvard Square MBTA station on the red line, at 6 Brattle Street, Cambridge, MA 02138.

I am a vendor, how can I get my product into the Shoppe?

Our buyer works hard to make sure we maintain a wide selection of products from around-the-world and around the corner in the store. We are always interested in receiving information about new items that might intrigue our customers. How can I learn about employment opportunities with Cardullo’s Gourmet Shoppe?

What is your return and exchange policy?

We are confident that you will love your purchases from Cardullo’s Gourmet Shoppe! However, if you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase we will do everything we can to make it right. For more information, visit our returns and exchange page.

Are all of the products in the store on the website?

Unfortunately, not all of the products in the store are on the website. With roughly 3,000 inventory items constantly in rotation, it would be almost impossible to keep our website current. But, we’d love to see you in the store!

I can’t seem to find a product you once carried, how can I check on availability?

Entering our seventh decade of operation, we have a lot of items that have come and gone throughout the years. However, if you do not see an item on the shelves, it doesn’t mean we don’t carry it anymore. Please contact us at inquiries@cardullos.com and we will be happy to assist you with your inquiry.

Do you sell corporate gifts?

Yes we do! Cardullo’s Gourmet Shoppe is more than happy to help fulfill your gift basket needs, to suit any size and budget. Please contact us at the store and we will work with you to design a beautiful and memorable gift basket for your corporation’s special recipients.

Can I use my gift card online?

Unfortunately, at this time we are not able to process gift cards with our online shopping cart. We hope to offer this function in the future. For now, all gift cards must be redeemed either by phone or in the Shoppe.

How can I order a custom gift basket?

We can certainly work with you to find a gift basket that would best suit your needs! With approximately 3,000 inventory items in the store the possibilities are endless and we are always ready to help.

At the moment, custom gift baskets cannot be ordered online, only via phone. Please feel free to contact us at 617-491-8888 or toll-free at 800-491-8288 to discuss your specific needs.

What is your substitution policy for gift basket items?

We will occasionally have to substitute items in our gift baskets because of inventory quantities. In this event, we will always substitute the item with a product of equal or greater value so as not to alter the value of the gift basket.

Can I place an order now and have it delivered at a later date?

Yes – we are happy to take an order now for future fulfillment.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (including American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover) as well as PayPal. We do not accept personal checks, check cards, Diners Club or foreign currency. If you have a Cardullo’s gift card you may redeem it by calling us at 617-491-8888 or toll-free at 800-491-8288.

How is sales tax calculated?

There is no sales tax on products shipping outside of Massachusetts. Sales tax applies to nonfood items in California and District of Columbia. Sales tax applies to non-food items and shipping charges in New York. Sales tax applies to all items, including food and shipping, in Kansas and in North Carolina.

How do I know that my online transactions are safe?

We are extremely conscientious in protecting our customers. We make sure that any vendors, programs and third-party applications we use have the same stringent privacy and protection policies in place.

How do you get email addresses?

All our subscribers are customers and visitors that have voluntarily provided their email addresses either online or in the store. We never buy or rent emails, nor do we sell or rent the ones our customers entrust with us. For more information, visit our privacy policy.

How do I unsubscribe from your emails?

While we are sorry you no longer wish to receive our emails we respect your privacy. To unsubscribe, please send an email to unsubscribe@cardullos.com and we will remove your address from our mailing list.
